About SchemingMind Titles
SchemingMind titles are awarded to players who have achieved exceptional results
on the site. In order to earn a title, you need to achieve an appropriate minumum
rating and also gain tournament 'norms', by placing in suitable mini-tournaments.
Players meeting the rating criteria, but not the normative criteria for each title
are considered to be candidates for that title.
Only public mini-tournaments which finish with at least five (double round robin) or seven (single round robin) can be counted
towards title norms; knockout tournaments do not count towards title norms.
The three levels of title are:
SchemingMind Senior Master: To earn a Senior Master title, you
have to acheive an all-time maximum rating of 2,200+ and place first or second in
at least three normative tournaments. For Standard Chess and Chess960 these must
be tournaments with a minimum entry rating of 2,000. It is not possible to specify
minimum entry rating for other chess variants, so the criteria for Chess Variant
Senior Masters are more relaxed. SM Senior Master titles are awarded for life, but only current full members are listed on the title holders list.
SchemingMind Master: To earn a Master title, you have to acheive
an all-time maximum rating of 2,000+ and place first, second or third in at least
two normative tournaments. For Standard Chess and Chess960 these must be tournaments
with a minimum entry rating of 1,800. It is not possible to specify minimum entry
rating for other chess variants, so the criteria for Chess Variant Masters are more
relaxed. SM Master titles are awarded for life, but only current full members are listed on the title holders list.
