I intend to continue playing as much as possible but I have to enter hospital shortly for a knee operation. More stressful , however , is that my father who is 85 years old will shortly be having open - heart surgery and I simply do not know at this stage what after-care he will require. The crucial move was 35....,Nf7. Had you played 35....., Nxe4 , I think that it would have been a struggle to win. After defending my e4 pawn with 36.f3, my plan was to exchange all the knights and get around your back to win the e5 pawn by triangulation --- exactly what happened ! You played well and do not be intimidated by opponents in the future ! I am sure that next time we meet , you will have zoomed up the ratings. Until then , Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year to you and yours. Good luck.PS -- Do not forget to resign this game !! 20/12/06. } { Robert Pallett: You have just resigned whilst I was typing !! One piece of advice. Use the Game Explorer to help with openings. I do when hit with an unusual opening ! I think that you may find it invaluable !! 20/12/06. } { Bjorno84: Thanks for the advice, I knew I should have kept those knights around. My old Chessmaster program found a draw for me as late as 46...h5, but the program took quite a different line than we did, and I actually thought you played it better than the Chessmaster 5000 (perhaps it needed more than 10 seconds to think!). Thanks for the good games, and I hope to play you again sometime. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! -Bjorn } 1-0
