How are your other games going? } 1... e6 { Thegreatpolgar: Thanks, and to you too! My other games have just started so not much to report yet :o) } 2. e4 Nf6 3. Qe2 Nxe4 4. Bg5 h6 5. Be3 Bd6 6. Nc3 b6 7. Qe5+ Kf8 { Thegreatpolgar: I have been expecting your 7.Qe5+ for quite some time now and I wanted to play d5 to protect my knight against that but I wasn't allowed to do so by the system! Is it me reading the rules wrongly here or is there a bug in this variant because I thought (d5) would be legal or maybe my pawn isn't allowed to jump over my bishop on the other board?! I presume you take my knight now then I should be able to play 8.d5 or am I wrong? } { nasmichael: Actually, I am not sure why the computer would not allow d5; perhaps you clicked the button too fast. Barring that, it may have been a bug, because the bishop on board 2 should not have blocked the move ...d7-d5(B). Ask Austin, as I want the game to proceed in the proper manner. I will play through it again--there were no discovered checks that would have been illegal on the board on which it is played, so we will have to check. } 8. Qxe4 { Austin Lockwood: Please don't make any more moves in this game until I have looked into this, thanks - Austin } { Thegreatpolgar: I am still not allowed to move d5 so I will contact Austin and wait for his reply before moving! } { Austin Lockwood: OK - I can confirm that this is a bug. The system is preventing black pawns from tunneling under pieces directly in front of them. I will fix the bug, but it may not be until next week - you may continue the game if you want to make an alternative move, or you can wait for the update (I can add time to your clock if you like). I've posted a message in the forum about this. Sorry for the inconvenience :-( } 8... Bb4+ 9. Ke2 { nasmichael: How have your other games been going? } 9... Ba6+ { Thegreatpolgar: They are going ok so far :o) } 10. Kf3 { nasmichael: This feels like a fight. } 10... Qg5 { Thegreatpolgar: I was expecting 10.Bd3 from you ... Moving your king out in the open like that can be very dangerous :o) } 11. Bd3 { nasmichael: You're right. I feel quite uncovered. } 11... Qh5+ 12. Kg3 { nasmichael: oops. } 12... Bd6+ { Thegreatpolgar: Yes, mate in 2 now! } 13. f4 { Austin Lockwood: I've fixed the black pawn bug now (I think!)... but too late it appears! } 13... Bb7 { Thegreatpolgar: I totally overlooked your 13.f4 so I guess you will live a little longer :o) } 14. Rf1 { nasmichael: Thanks, Austin. } 14... Qh4# 0-1
